What is Collage for Change?

Coming from a background in Zoology (BSc), Aoife developed Collage for Change as part of the MA Art in Science course at LJMU. Aoife uses collage to create memorable visuals that aim to communicate environmental issues. Through combining science, activism, humour and politics, the abstract collages and zines convey accurate and accessible information to educate and inspire the public.

Collage for Change has evolved throughout her masters course; from originally wanting to communicate scientific research through lighthearted visuals to developing artwork to relate to topical, real-world issues. Aoife has developed a well rounded body of collage work, including two zines, in her established style.

This portfolio showcases the progression of Collage for Change from semesters 1 & 2 and how they have contributed to the major project ‘AI is generating… environmental problems’.
